Job Overview:
Business and Technical Training College is seeking an experienced Curriculum Developer to lead the development and enhancement of our Accounting and Payroll Administration Diploma Program. This role is ideal for a professional with extensive experience in Ontario's Private Career College (PCC) sector and a strong understanding of curriculum design, vocational education standards, and payroll and accounting practices in Ontario.
This is a newly created position at Business and Technical Training College established to support the strategic development and expansion of the College's academic programming.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed curriculum content aligned with industry standards and educational best practices for the Accounting and Payroll Administration Diploma.
- Design course outlines, lesson plans, learning outcomes, assignments, rubrics, and instructional materials for hybrid and online education models.
- Integrate current accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, taxation, and financial software practices into course content.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of course content.
- Manage project timelines to ensure timely delivery of curriculum components while maintaining high quality standards.
- Incorporate innovative teaching strategies and multimedia elements to support diverse learning styles.
- Conduct reviews and updates of existing curriculum based on feedback, industry developments, and technological advancements.
- Support program approval, audits, and compliance initiatives as required.
Requirements :
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing curriculum for Ontario Institutions.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Payroll, Business Administration, Finance, Adult Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles, bookkeeping, payroll administration, taxation, and payroll legislation.
- Experience developing vocational diploma programs and instructional materials.
- Excellent written communication and curriculum design skills.
- Knowledge of Ontario Private career college regulatory requirements is considered a strong asset.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise educational materials.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles tailored for online education and classroom settings.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators, industry experts, and stakeholders.
Work Schedule:
The successful candidate will be expected to manage their time effectively and meet project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines as established by the College.
