Overview

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality web software including requirements clarification, design discussions, coding, testing, and documentation
• Spend the majority of time (90+%) hands-on coding, learning, and improving implementation skills
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and engineering practices
• Assist in resolving defects/bugs identified during QA testing, pre-production, and production
• Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver against sprint commitments
• Work cross-functionally with product management, QA/QE, and other engineering teams to support shared goals
• Follow established engineering processes, standards, and best practices
• Demonstrate a commitment to team success and positive team dynamics
• Show curiosity and passion for growing technical skills in service of customers
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute actively

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 0–2 years of experience developing web, software, or mobile applications (internships and academic projects welcome)
• Foundational understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented programming
• Experience (academic or professional) with at least one object-oriented language such as Ruby, Java, C#, Python, or C++
• Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Familiarity with web services (REST preferred)
• Exposure to unit testing and testing fundamentals (TDD is a plus)
• Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow within a collaborative engineering environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Positive, helpful attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
