Our client is seeking an experienced Contract IBM i (AS/400) Developer with strong ACBS platform expertise to support mission-critical commercial lending and banking applications within a large enterprise financial services environment.
This role requires a highly technical developer with deep experience supporting and enhancing FIS ACBS, strong IBM i development capabilities, and a solid understanding of enterprise integrations, database programming, and modern DevOps practices.
The successful candidate will work closely with business analysts, architects, support teams, and lending technology stakeholders to deliver enhancements, troubleshoot complex issues, and support strategic initiatives across the ACBS platform ecosystem.
Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and support applications running within the IBM i (AS/400) environment.
• Develop and maintain solutions supporting the FIS ACBS lending platform.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across application, integration, and database layers.
• Analyze technical requirements and implement scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Develop and optimize DB2 database objects, SQL queries, stored procedures, and related components.
• Build and support integrations with internal and external applications.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and solution planning activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support deployment, release management, and production support activities.
• Contribute to DevOps and continuous delivery initiatives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience within IBM i (AS/400) environments.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting and developing solutions within the FIS ACBS platform.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting enterprise applications running on IBM i.
• Strong LANSA development experience.
• Experience with IBM iDB2 database development, including:
  • SQL
  • Stored Procedures
  • Query optimization
  • Database troubleshooting
• Strong development experience with:
  • CL
  • Java
• Experience developing applications on Windows environments with deployment to IBM i platforms.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive work to completion with minimal supervision.

Integration & Middleware Experience
Experience with enterprise integration technologies including:

• IBM MQ / MQ Series
• Web Services
• SSL Certificates
• Secure application communications
• File transfer and messaging technologies
• API and service integration concepts

DevOps & Delivery Experience
Experience implementing and supporting modern software delivery practices including:

• GitHub
• Jenkins
• Nexus
• CI/CD pipelines
• Source control management
• Automated deployment processes
• Agile delivery methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Capital Markets experience.
• Commercial Lending or Corporate Lending experience.
• Financial Services industry experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise banking platforms.
• Familiarity with modern integration architectures and cloud-enabled environments.
• Exposure to application modernization initiatives within IBM i ecosystems.
