I have been working at Autodesk full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The thing I like the most is the challenging work. Performance is recognized. It's easy to see how the things I'm doing are directly connected to help our customers reduce waste and make a better world.

    Cons

As a large company it still has some old processes need to be shed.

I have been working at Autodesk full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great salary, great benefits, great people who truly care about you and the business, lots of skills growth opportunities.

    Cons

Hard to move up. An organizational change every year or two, it is tech. Everyone, even new is expected to be very independent and operate with minimal guidance.

I worked at Autodesk full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Spacious and bright downtown Toronto office.

    Cons

I worked at Autodesk in Toronto for a number of years. My direct manager created a toxic work environment with childish, vindictive behaviour. He had a brazen attitude towards workplace norms; comments and "jokes" directed at female colleagues would make everybody present uncomfortable. Unfortunately, upper management took no corrective action after being made aware of the manager's behaviour. I ended up choosing to leave after much soul-searching.

I have been working at Autodesk full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Autodesk has a great reputation in most industries and provides employees with competitive benefits.

    Cons

Autodesk is always going through change with little concern for the impact on employees’ morale. Employees are told to be “flexible” or there are consequences. Be prepared to let go of your favourite project, colleague, or even your own job at a moment’s notice. Senior management pay lip service to company ideals but the reality is that you better watch your back. Some teams work extremely long hours with no real work-life balance. Excessive turnover.

I have been working at Autodesk full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Average salary, company stocks, working from home during the pandemic.

    Cons

The work environment is toxic that managers know about it, but are too comfortable and don't want to change anything. If you like working in a "game of thrones" political company, join us. All the good people are leaving 1 by 1 to other companies, no exit interviews because managers simply don't care. Promotions based on how well you fake it and play the political game. Do you want a promotion? Keep on dreaming. Promotions are rare and your peers prefer to burry you down with bad reviews so they would look better than you. Managers feel that they are gods and immune to feedback. They simply don't care and some of them got promoted based on their butt-kissing ability. If you dare to challenge the status quo, to think out of the box, to try to change something, you get marginalized, obstacles are put in your way, and you hit so many walls until they make you quit. I saw so many great colleagues forced to leave so others can continue to sleep in peace.

I have been working at Autodesk full-time

    Pros

Autodesk has a very progressive culture and work environment. Diversity in all aspects is respected. Development teams have latitude to make decisions. Work conditions are flexible and there are great opportunities to improve skill set. Managers regularly ask employees what training they are interested in. Many of the staff in the Calgary office have been with Autodesk for 15+ years. Once you join, you will never want to leave. It is truly that great.

    Cons

The Calgary office is small by Autodesk standards. Opportunities for a management career are limited if a person wants to stay in Calgary.

I have been working at Autodesk full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Super smart colleges, excellent culture, democratic attitude, friendly atmosphere. - An unexpectedly dynamic company considering its size. - Great benefits (RRSP, ESPP, wellness program $1k/y, unlimited day offs, additional christmas week, AIP bonus, salary indexation each year, free lunches).

    Cons

Sometimes the company is too dynamic.
