    Pros

Capgemini has invested in tools, programs, and leaders to drive many people-centric programs, which develop, reward, recognize and go the extra mile to support its talent world wide. No company is perfect. No, support does not mean "be the top payer". Capgemini is not competing by providing pay and benefits that are in the top quartile. But Capgemini is competitive when you look at the "total package"... including our compensation, CSR and career development. They do believe in CSR and we demonstrate regularly. Capgemini also goes the extra mile to mentor and help foster a culture of diversity. Capgemini is pretty forward-thinking with its innovative programs aimed at attracting and retaining best talent. They also have a great Employee Resource Group (ERG) program, run by committed volunteers and program leads in North America whose mandate and message is clear -- help our employees succeed and see their wide range of personalities, sex, and ethic backgrounds as a competitive factor in our drive to be the best and instill that confidence in our clients. Last, if future job security from a perspective of "staying in the game" is important to you, Capgemini is well-run, strategic, with a proven track record of growth, diversification, and acquisitions. Staying ahead of the game and keeping up with the frantic pace of innovation are big challenges facing all our clients, our company and our Capgemini collegues. In every sector, new players are arriving and forcing our clients to rethink their strategy and partners at every moment to retain or grow market share and profitability. Technology is the key to solving each of these challenges. Capgemini has established a leading reputation driving best practice technology adoption with our clients, which many of us our proud to have been part of building.

    Cons

Every year Capgemini does look at competitive benchmarks for our compensation and benefit programs standardized as much as possible on a global basis for a company with 250,000 world wide. Sometimes there are positive and negative changes made in our North American programs to "standardize" our benefit or leave of absence programs to more similar to other Capgemini geographies. On the bright side, these changes... opens the door to staff who are interested in working in other geographies around the world. On the downside, sometimes these program changes feel like "take-away" from staff. More advance notice and better communication (how do we compare to the local benchmark) would perhaps make it easier for us to accept these changes.

    Advice to Management

from the top-down you have created a created culture based on very frequent business communications with leadership and employees at all levels. This is great for engagement. Sometimes, however, your changes to the compensation programs -- for whatever reasons -- are not well received because they are in fact "take backs". It does negatively impact all the good work on your engaged employee culture. Maybe... re-think these compensation changes or do a better job making a compelling explanation for these program revisions.
