As a Tier 2 IT Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to clients, system implementation, and management of IT networks. You will be expected to work autonomously on tier-2 level tasks.
- Providing top-tier customer service to clients.
- Testing and evaluating new systems and software.
- Client communication & task management.
- Documenting support activities and maintaining accurate records.
- Role is in-person in Abbotsford office servicing clients in the Fraser Valley.
- Role is full time, though there may be opportunity for part-time as well.
Compensation
- Compensation: $50-70k depending on abilities and fulfillment of the rest of this job description

Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A degree in computing or demonstrable equivalent ability
- Around 3 years of experience in a related role or demonstrable equivalent ability
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to learn and solve challenges with a growth mindset
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to explain technical situations to clients in plain English, and share the relevant factors and consequences so they can make informed decisions

Capabilities

- Troubleshoot all workstation technical issues
- Troubleshoot nearly-all single-site network issues
- Troubleshoot most server technical issues
- Troubleshoot some campus or multi-site network issues
- Troubleshoot some distributed or cluster server issues
- Rap the full theme song to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
- Set up a new basic business network with device connectivity, on-prem Windows server, 365, and security
- Prevent and respond to viruses, ransomware, and other cybsecurity breaches
- Configuring and manage Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Google Workspace
- Migrate businesses from Google Workspace to Office 365 or vice versa
- Build and test a PC from scratch. Even better if you can build a server too. More RGB, more better.
- Integrate, configure, and provision SAAS and line-of-business apps for clients
- Configuring and managing hypervisors and related networking
- Hit an HP Laserjet from 100 yards with 3x optics and a 5km/h crosswind.
- Writing PowerShell or bash scripts to automate tasks or process data.
- (Fine to use AI as long as you can proofread/correct the output)
- Explain technical options to clients in a way that empowers them to make an informed decision for their business
- Configuring and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions. Write Disaster Recovery Plans
- Install Windows 11 without using a Microsoft account
- Produce good documentation both for internal use and for clients
- Teach and mentor junior staff
