The whole interview process was very comfortable, pleasant and transparent.
At first, I was contacted by the recruiter, Sylvia, on LinkedIn. Later we talked on the phone about the position, my experience and other organizational topics. Then there were two separate in-person interviews at the office: first a technical interview with developers, then a slightly less technical interview with a manager and a team lead (to match me with a team).
Most of the questions verified the experience I claimed with technologies and practices. No brain-teasers or any nonsense like that, very practical, role-fitting questions. Understanding of Java, frameworks, basic database design and system design were tested. When I was asked a question on a technology I had not worked with, I stated my lack of familiarity, and instead we moved deeper into the database aspect of the question.
Through the whole process, Sylvia was keeping me regularly updated, answered all my questions and was exceptionally accommodating. At the time I was in a tricky situation logistically, and the company and the recruiter both showed a great amount of good will.
In the end I got a very generous offer, but my circumstances changed, and for personal reasons - not related to the company or the interview process - I could not accept. I definitely recommend the company to anyone interested in a similar position. The technology stack the developers outlined is modern and interesting, the office looks great, and the treatment I received was very very good.
