I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Lots of opportunity to direct your own career, if you're willing to put the effort in.
    - Generally, very good colleagues who all want to help the customer achieve their goals.
    - Flexible working very good in most areas.
    - Day to day tech (i.e. laptops) are generally good spec.
    - Lots of support if you need it.
    - A very diverse workplace with all areas of IT happening somewhere.

    Cons

    - Sometimes years can go by without a pay rise, not even inflation, despite doing a 'good job'. Pay rises only available to those that excel, which means that salaries are stagnant in relation to the economy.
    - If you're not good at dealing with change then you might want to look elsewhere as things can change quickly and quite drastically sometimes, but usually for good business reasons.

    Advice to Management

People getting a 3, i.e. doing a GOOD job, should get inflationary pay rises otherwise it feels like getting a pay cut for doing a good job. This quickly leads to demotivation if a higher rating is unachieveable in the area you're working in.

    Advice to Management

Capgemini is involved with changing technology world and need to help pros and resources to transition to new projects after learning new technology.

    Pros

Unlimited learning opportunities - on job learning. Constantly evolving environment with cutting edge projects. One of the most ethical workplaces to be associated with.

    Cons

Indian labor is looked as a cheap labor as opposed to drivers of innovation. Lowballing talent in India when it comes to compensation. Very high attrition levels triggered by compensation issues. Extreme bottom line pressure, severe work-life balance issues.

    Advice to Management

Increase focus on retaining talent via training / upskilling and remuneration in line with the market value of the resources

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Large group, incredible corporate university, good salary and good benefits (for old employees).

    Cons

Lack of leadership, unprepared executives (Directors and VPs), terrible internal communication, no one knows what are the company goals and mission, all the employees feels unsafe about their futures in the company.

In recent months there have been several layoffs in an unprepared manner, there is no respect for the employees that are being fired. The criterion for not firing people seems to be how close they are to Managers/Directos and not how good they are for the company.

As a Capgemini employee, I read a lot about how the company values their resources and how the good ones are special for the group. Looking for the company news OUT of Brazil, that seems to be a reality... Unfortunately, the Capgemini culture never arrived in our land.

    Advice to Management

The new CEO of Capgemini Brazil, Maurizio Mondani, seems to be doing a great restructuring job. I have two advices...

First - Maurizio, keep doing what are you doing... are you finally showing a "light in the end of the tunnel" (brazilian saying) for those who want to work in a serious company.

Second - A lot of good technical employees are being lost due to the incompetence of the senior management that still remains from the CPMBRAXIS. They are "cutting costs" by cutting competent people to save their own necks. The advice is... get rid of those who just want to keep their wages and doesn't care about the future, before their dismisses more good people (or make them quit for not being able to put up with this horrible style of "management")

    Pros

If you can create good connections with management, you can get promotions quickly. Good health care benefits

    Cons

Most projects are staff augmented. Very little chance to work on responsible project

    Advice to Management

They should start looking at Human resource building, not just revenue building
