Position Overview

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Lab Technician to support product testing, prototype development, and engineering operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating environmental test lab equipment, recording and analyzing test results, preparing engineering drawings, and assisting with prototype builds and technical support for manufacturing.

This role is ideal for candidates with AutoCAD/SolidWorks experience and a strong mechanical or engineering background.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate environmental test lab equipment to evaluate product performance under simulated operating conditions
• Record, analyze, and interpret test data to prepare technical reports, charts, and graphs
• Assist engineers and drafters with product and component design using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Build, assemble, and test prototypes and testing apparatus
• Conduct product and equipment testing and identify design-related issues
• Support engineering investigations and corrective action processes
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and reports
• Create test plans, test cases, and documentation for testing procedures
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide engineering support during production
• Assist in evaluating alternative designs, materials, and testing methods
• Maintain, adjust, and clean lab equipment as required
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving product performance issues
• Perform additional engineering and lab-related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

✔Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technician program
✔1–3 years of related experience preferred
✔Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
✔ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
✔ Experience with prototype setup, testing, and technical reporting
✔ Refrigeration industry knowledge is considered an asset
✔ Knowledge of Access or similar database systems is an asset
✔ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
