RecommendsNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at University of Calgary part-time for less than a year
Pros
Experience is good if you have a good supervisor. Pay can be good if your supervisor has a good grant because then you may be able to negotiate good pay. Good work environment. Many resources of different kinds for staff and students.
Cons
Parking can get expensive if you don't have a parking pass, and I don't think it accepts debit. Not very much indoor parking, so be prepared for a cold walk.

tied to government, which currently doesn't support public services (incl. universities). Lots of budget cuts. Many of the incentives of working here are gone.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at University of Calgary full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Benefits like tuition support and pension plan are good.
Cons
Paths for advancement are non-existent. A petition process is required to raise salary beyond 1% outside of employee reviews which is still only a 3-5% increase which barely covers cost of living increase, much less merit.
