Business Development Representative (BDR)

Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile, driven, and detail-oriented Business Development Representative to support our global commercial growth. This individual contributor role is designed for a generalist who can bridge the gap between market research, lead generation, and technical marketing. You will be responsible for executing multi-channel prospecting campaigns, supporting inside sales operations, and developing the technical collateral needed to win Tier-1 accounts in the semiconductor and electronics industries.
As a key member of a fast-paced technology startup, you must be flexible, culturally aware, and ready to contribute across the entire business development lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesProspecting & Campaign Execution
- Campaign Management: Execute outbound prospecting campaigns to identify and qualify new potential clients across target verticals.
- Lead Engagement: Conduct high-volume outreach and diligent follow-up to transition cold and dormant leads into qualified opportunities for the senior BD team.
Technical Marketing & Collateral Development
- Content Creation: Assist in developing technical marketing content, including application notes, product one-pagers, and case studies.
- Presentation Support: Design and refine high-impact sales presentations for customer meetings and industry conferences.
- Collateral Management: Ensure all sales materials are up-to-date with the latest R&D data and branding.
Market Research & Inside Sales Support
- Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive market research for commercial planning.
- CRM Hygiene: Maintain high-quality CRM data, tracking all contact interactions and deal progress with precision.
- Order Management Support: Support the Business Development and Operations teams with order entry for initial sample sales and coordinate sample logistics for customer evaluations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5 years of professional experience in Business Development, Inside Sales, or Technical Marketing within a B2B or technology environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field (a background in Science or Engineering is a significant asset).
- Startup Mindset: Proven ability to be flexible and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
- International Perspective: Experience living or working abroad is highly preferred.
- Languages: Proficiency in multiple languages is preferred, with Japanese fluency being a major advantage for our Asian market expansion.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling value propositions.
Reporting & Benefits
- Location: In-person Victoria office.
- Reporting To: Business Development Manager.
- Salary: Competitive based on experience ($50k - $60k range).
- Equity: Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) participation
- Vacation: 3 weeks after probationary period.
