I have been working at Sport Chek part-time

    Pros

The employee discount and overall atmosphere. In the middle of the mall so I’m always seeing people I know

    Cons

Often getting booked on days I say I’m not available and it’s hard to get rid of a shift

    Advice to Management

Not much, overall happy with management they are all super nice and chill

    Pros

    A lot of fun co-workers
    Helping people be more active
Training is excellent - lots of info to learn from
    Great discount and perks
Good opportunities for progression under the right leadership

    Cons

Most customers think they know more than you
Expectations are often a little too high of a lot of staff, especially the ones who take on more than they should
Upper management can be hit or miss (some great, some not so great)
Too much focus on hitting largely unrealistic budgets

    Advice to Management

Take care of your lower level (store) management teams better and in turn they'll take care of their floor staff better. Put more focus on the lower graded stores, not just the big ones.
    Buy better quality product options.

I worked at Sport Chek part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked at the Metrotown location. The discounts and coworkers were fantastic. Great way to learn social skills and meet great people.

    Cons

The store general manager was very unwilling to cooperate with other workers including managers. Many people left because of him.

    Unfair wages too.

    Advice to Management

I won't say any names but please be willing to accommodate workers according to situations rather than your greed to save a little bit more money by understaffing departments.
