Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Air Cooler Bay Designer with a strong background in detail,design and drafting. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to develop detailed designs that meet project specifications, codes, and fabrication requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop layouts for air cooler bay and its components.
- Prepare detailed fabrication drawings and design documentation.
- Work Independently with minimal supervision.
- Review project specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Collaborate with internal departments including Engineering, Production, Quality Control, and Project Management
- Interface with customers and vendors to ensure design intent and scope are clearly understood
- Support manufacturing by resolving fabrication-related issues and performing shop walk-downs as required
- Follow projects through the full lifecycle from design to fabrication and delivery
- Ensure all work aligns with Altex quality standards, procedures, and policies
- Assist with Bills of Materials and material planning as required
- Participate in continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in air cooler bay design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (required)
- Experience with AutoCAD (required).
- Strong understanding of mechanical and structural design principles
- Experience working with fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and code
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
Work Environment:
- Hybrid work arrangement (office and remote)
- Regular interaction in a fabrication shop environment
- Occasional site visits may be required
- Must be able to work safely in environments with noise, heavy equipment, and typical shop conditions
