I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at IBM (Columbia, MO) in Aug 2012
Interview
The interview was onsite at their Columbia Delivery Center and it wasn't difficult to find. Upon arrival I was buzzed in by the front receptionist who notified the hiring manager that I had arrived. I sat in the reception area until I was greeted by the manager. In the reception/waiting area there were two smaller offices with a small round table and few chairs--this is where the interview was conducted. The hiring manager had the typical "this is our company and what the role is" discussion, then had the "tell me about you" conversation of any typical interview. It was probably a 30-min casual talk before he dismissed himself and turned it over to his team lead. I figured this would be the part most people dread where you're grilled over what your do or don't know. However, at the end I've gotta admit I was a bit disappointed. In hindsight I can see why the technical discussion wasn't nearly as bad as I'd feared--too bad it didn't set off any red flags at the time.
