Pros

Salary. Downtown office. Snacks. Great coworkers .

Cons

First, do not believe the positive reviews! They were written 1-2 years ago when the company was a good place to work and management forced us to write them. In the beginning the company was a great place to work at. It was fun, challenging and collaborative. Over the last year the company has become a toxic place to work at. The engineers are blamed for company's lack of leadership and bussiness IQ. As a result, employee freedom and perks have been taken away. No working from - even when sick or not feeling well, must take a sick day, of which there are only 4 per year. Work day is 9 to 5:30. No trust in employees. Many promises made and broken. No company trip. No gift cards. No stock options. Unless you are part of a select few, you are not important. And your well being, your opinions or your career dont matter. They just want you to do your assigned work and stay out of their way. Because they think so highly of themselves and so low of others. The hard work people put in is discredited and not appreciated, yet if you make a mistake they are quick to blame. Performance reviews are an opportunity for them to point out all the things you did wrong and none of the things you accomplished. Team lead takes all team members credit and talks bad about other team members behind their back. Micromanaging. Arrogant. Antagonizing. High turn over. No one is happy. 2.5 percent salary increase after almost 2 years

Avoid At All Costs

Pros

- Snacks - Nice, smart people (most have left) - Free lunch on Wednesdays

Cons

- Management lies a lot, creates financial incentives for achieving goals and never pays, will promise everything (raises, promotions, company equity, etc...) and will never deliver. - Culture is toxic. Lies from management aside, time at the company is micro managed and it's a minimum 8.5 hour day, little to no work from home. They try to set up company outings, and employees feel compelled to go. Awkward. - No career growth. People rarely, if ever, get promoted. Recent "promotions", come with no pay raise and more responsibility. - Only the very top employees are compensated fairly, everyone else is underpaid. - Good reviews are either lies, or were written years ago, when the company wasn't so bad. Employees are told to write good reviews here. - Most employees who could leave, have left. About 6 or 7 people left in less than a year due to the sharp decline in company culture. - Employees who become friends with management, clearly get preferential treatment. - CEO has no management skills, will micro manage one task and ignore other priorities.

Terrible management

Pros

Excellent team, including some of the brightest technical minds in the city. We managed to get a larger company in Sweden to acquire the business over the summer.

Cons

They have brought up Glassdoor reviews in company meetings and they openly encourage us to look for ways to game the review mechanism on this site. The 2-3 executives at the top of the company micromanage every aspect of the operation, including the aspects that they are clearly not qualified to comment on. The company has been performing very poorly as a direct result of this. The management's response to recent poor performance is to ratchet up the pressure on everyone, including the folks already performing very well. I've seen them fire numerous top performers in a bid to show the new owners that they are taking action to stabilize the operations. The result is a dirty and complicated game of office politics where staying on the management's good side is way more more important than getting the actual job done.
