Pros

Great clients and huge capacity to learn. The salary is good and the perks are great.

Cons

Employee safety is not at the top of the list. I was nearly killed in Senegal in a car crash when I was hit by a bus. The car was totalled. There was no support from the company and still had to finish the weeks work. You don't even get training on health and safety when in the office. The destinations can be great but can also be horrific such as deepest darkest Africa. Don't let the ft500 companies sway your decision as these companies operate in the worst parts of the world as well as the best and you will be sent there. The job get boring and repetitive after a while and there is absolutely no advancement in emea. The promotion matrix at which the company designed makes it impossible to get promoted because they include technical skills you are graded on for which the company does not train you on and things like participation in public forums which are not even relevant and also leads to no work life balance. You never actually finish work because the management don't acknowledge when you finish and will email you or call you at midnight with no hesitation. Some really technically inept people working at this company as well which are endorsed by the management and complaints go ignored. If your a fan of lip service, this is the company for you, there is loads of it. Still being in coms with some existing staff and they tell me morale is rock bottom.

Growing pains but a great company

Pros

Overall great culture. CEO provides visibility into quarterly sales info and any new directions the company is taking. Ability to travel and work from home.

Cons

A bit of growing pains as new clients are taken on. Healthcare plan isn't the best. There isn't much (if any) advancement opportunity.

Pros

At Loop1, I've found that the quality of the people here is hard to beat. I've met some of my best friends. Even those that have moved on from Loop1, I still consider them to be family, both professionally and an extension of my own personal family. The culture of the workplace is enabling and supportive. It is also challenging. It's a smaller company servicing, consulting, and leading with some of the brightest minds on the planet - challenging status quo and developing to the future. At Loop1, I've rubbed shoulders with more impressive personalities than I have anywhere else. I'm not aware of any other employer where I would have the opportunity to grow and develop and be supported like I do here at Loop1. I love that my future here is challenging and open to be what I make of it by collaborating and driving myself forward in excellence. I'm not a cog in the wheel here. I love that my opinion matters and I can affect change through the EOS model Loop1 operates by. Communication is good but communication can always be better. I feel like the company, top to bottom, is constantly working to make communication more transparent and effective. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to work/life balance and Loop1 allows me all the flexibility to be as busy as I want to be. Maybe I should be a little more self-disciplined to draw boundaries and communicate well so that I'm still relevant in my work.

Cons

Loop1 is not a place where I would recommend somebody come if they are looking to only fulfill their responsibilities. The work is very challenging. There are a lot of hats to be worn, but with that challenge comes understanding and awareness. The pace is fast but not unacceptable. I find that many of my challenges with timeliness are mostly defined in my own conversations with clients. I find that I'm typically operating at a pace matched by the clients I'm consulting. The communication in the company is good but communication can always be better. To be fair, I do feel like Loop1 does excellent with communication and is working hard to continue to be more transparent and effective here. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to work/life balance and Loop1 allows me all the flexibility to be as busy as I want to be. Maybe I should be a little more self-disciplined to draw boundaries and communicate well so that I'm still relevant in my work.
