Will never go bankrupt, very stable. Matching employee share plan up to 5% contribution at a 40% discount to market, so free money to be had. Expanding from Telco to Tech company everyday, branching into many industries and has an international branch as well
Cons
HR designed overlapping pay ranges and rules designed to prevent a pay increase when moving to higher job levels that overlap. Usually when promoted you have to wait a year in the job, get a good review and then you will get adjusted to the middle/average. Moving beyond average pay in a job requires backflips and good company year. Moving up the ladder can be done, but you have to be in the right areas. If you aren't then move to another ASAP. Marketing and sales in Consumer Wireline or Wireless is good. If your boss likes or depends on you enough they can't get VP approval to override any of the HR policy handcuffs. Your most important negotiation is the first one when joining the company, getting higher pay is a slog but can be done.
