Pros
Mainly remote work if you're in sales So much chaos that you can get lost in the shuffle and do your own thing for the most part Strong benefits package Some excellent people that you will get to work with
Cons
Too many absolutely terrible (inept, unaccountable, egotistical) people, particularly in upper management and SLT Constant 'strategy' shifts, territory and account changes. Strategy is in quotes because there really hasn't been a coherent strategy since I've been here (3+ years) Arbitrary targets that have become less attainable year over year SLT actively tries to sell you on the TELUS values and how privileged you are to work for a company with such high moral standards as a means to placate the fact that you have no chance of hitting your targets and earning what you were promised you would earn (i.e. OTE). Payouts on large deals are arbitrarily decided - and you will get screwed if you've had the audacity to close a whale (of which the closer of 3-4 per year are necessary to hit your targets). Only sales is compensated based on performance. No other department has any consequence for not meeting a target or commitment. For SLT the compensation is based on 'engagement' survey scores which many (not all) coach their teams on filling out so that they get comped. Read the above again - no one but sales is compensated based on performance. Words cannot describe the absurdity of this system. If your request is too far outside of the box, or requires someone to do more work than they deem necessary, then things simply do not get done. Who suffers? Only you - particularly if most of your book of business is derived from acquisition.
