However, the sentiment began to shift in 2021 as Salesforce, like many organizations, embraced a 'Woke' approach. The shift towards prioritizing hiring based on unique social values and biological differences, rather than merit, professional background, or skillset, had consequences. This change coincided with a pivot towards a 'high performance culture,' seemingly prioritizing the bottom line over employee well-being.
In the CSG department, the consequences are particularly evident, with leadership decisions appearing inept and skewed. Unfortunately, deserving individuals have been overlooked in favor of those who merely check certain diversity boxes. The organization's struggle with trust is disconcerting, as leaders openly acknowledge their affiliation with specific groups, influencing their decisions. Speaking out in this environment is often met with accusations of hate or bigotry.
Despite my deep love for Salesforce and over 15 years of industry experience, leaving the company was one of the most challenging decisions I've ever made. I remain apprehensive about the future success and growth of Salesforce when the executive team seems focused on the bottom line, while other leadership prioritizes personal attributes over professional qualifications. The path for growth seems limited unless one fits into a specific category.
