Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us have seen disruptions to our work/life norms. We now have children home from school or daycare, elderly family members living with us, significant others working from home, and most social activities and caregiving support canceled. To help our employees cope during this difficult time we have created Harris EDU. Harris EDU is hosted on Goggle Classroom and offers curriculum to keep children entertained and learning while their parents are working.

How We Are Supporting our Employees and Customers
To support our employees and customers working from home with children, we have created Harris Edu. Hosted on Google Classroom, we have created curriculum for four different age groups to help keep children entertained and learning while their parents work.
We are especially mindful of physical and mental wellbeing during this time. We encourage our employees to utilize our free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to receive counseling for any work/life issues they may be facing. In addition to EAP, we are partnering with our other vendors to host wellbeing webinars and sharing wellbeing newsletters with additional tips and tricks to stay well.

If you find yourself losing perspective, remind yourself to focus on what matters, do the possible to the best of your ability and be kind…to yourself. COVID-19 will not last, but we will and Harris will endure.
At the Harris Leadership Offsite, attendees were challenged to make a difference within their Business Unit and Community. The results were both amazing and impactful! Harris Business Units raised over $137,000.00, participated in 233 acts of kindness, and invested 1,835 hours to over 50 charities.
While it is true to say that Harris is a collection of businesses – #WeAreHarris – is also true. In an effort to keep connected, engaged as well as create an understanding of where we have come from and where we are going – we are introducing a new podcast We Are Harris. Our goal is to continue to share our stories by introducing you to the people who are creating them each and every day.
I have been working at Harris Computer full-time (Less than a year)
The community is very open. They do think about the employee as much as they think about the company. They make new employees feel very welcome and they set them up for success.
They are a large company, it can be hard to meet everyone, but that is really not a true con.
Advice to Management
Keep on doing what you are doing. My experience with starting with Harris was great!
I applied online. The process took 5+ weeks. I interviewed at Harris Computer (New York, NY (US)).
HR/recruiter interview, personality test, manager interview, culture interview, in person interview, final interview, offer letter. Process took about a month, but everyone I met was fantastic and they did a good job of not asking the same questions over and over again. Seems like a great company to work for and that they take good care of their people. Everyone who I spoke to seemed to actually enjoy the company (rather than giving me dead eyes like Office Space), and with the compensation and benefits package, I understand why.
