I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Starbucks (Edmonton, AB) in Jan 2012
Interview
I was interviewed at a Safeway Starbucks. Recruiter was totally friendly and knowledgeable when it came to interviewing. Not intimidating in any way. Very good experience as one of the first jobs ever.
Asked about how I would react in many specific situations (such as when a grumpy customer comes and throws the drink at you, etc, etc)
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
