Was initially reached out to through LinkedIn by a current employee. I had a phone screening with them, followed by a phone interview with the hiring manager, and then an on-site interview + presentation. What made me give the interview process a negative review was how long and drawn out it was + their lack of communication throughout. As some other reviewers have experienced as well, I was contacted as SAP was in a hiring freeze - something I only learned about after the second round of interviews. There were long gaps in communications (think 2-3+ weeks), and the last step that I got approval to be put through to (phone interview with the VP of Business Development in NA) was never coordinated. I received confirmation from the business development manager I interviewed with very shortly after the in person interview that these would be the confirmed next steps, along with timelines it was supposed to happen. Needless to say, it never did. After 3+ months and countless follow ups with continual reassurances it’d be happening and that I was at the top of the candidate pool, I left it in their hands. Did not even receive an email saying that the position had closed or another candidate was chosen. I ended up signing with another leading tech company for a similar role and they were much more professional and prompt during the interviewing and hiring process. Overall found the interview process for SAP highly inconsiderate of candidate’s time and job search. Waste of time as other reviewers for this position have noted.
