I have been working at SAP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

TLDR: Smart people, cool customers, and supportive systems.
Firstly, SAP has some pretty amazing customers. I work with some of the top companies in the world, which is both challenging and exciting. Secondly, SAP empowers you to do your job, then gets out of the way. I've worked at a lot of big companies in the past, and even coming in via an acquisition, I have to say this is a very un-political place to work. The team I work on is brilliant. Some of the smartest people I've ever worked with. Lastly, SAP constantly redefines itself. This isn't because it's chaotic or bi-polar but speaks to how the company embodies the ideals of agile methodology to shift and adapt to the changing market.

    Cons

It's a huge company and it can be a bit complex to navigate all the stakeholders and players. While it tries to simplify, it's still pretty process heavy. Hard to avoid that but it's one of the downsides of working for a big company. SAP has a bad habit of promoting stereotypes and not breaking old-boy networks. While it's agile in it's product development, it's waterfall in it's management.

    Advice to Management

Be as agile in your management style as you are in the rest of the business. Don't use old world management stereotypes to define who should be promoted.

I worked at SAP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best in class benefits and work life balance.

    Cons

you will feel stagnation after some years. The management is mostly busy to work with Germany and don't give to many chances to upward movement after certain levels.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. The only thing you need is to be competitive with the market standards while offering positions. You HR is very rude to candidates sometimes.

I have been working at SAP full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Amazing Benefits (including free lunch at long list of Yaletown restaurants!).
    Excellent pension plan matching program.
    Excellent stock option purchase plan.
    Huge Fitness facility.
Work from home and schedule flexibility.
Great internal learning opportunities and benefits available for external education.

    Cons

Hard to find one... There is a very inclusive global focus in collaboration (a pro!) and being the last time zone to the west, means that early mornings will be a reality from time to time to reach your colleagues overseas.

I worked at SAP (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked at SAP for almost 10 years and it's a great company to work for. Here are some great things:

    - A positive culture of learning and trying new things
    - Great benefits package
    - Ability transfer to new locations and try new roles
    - Plenty of opportunity for growth
    - Great work balance
    - Remote working possible

    Cons

The only con I can think of is management analysis for identifying growth opportunities. Development managers can be disconnected from teams due to the agile development set up.

    Advice to Management

Interact with your teams and get to know products, non-HR processes, and teams better.
