While the initial contact was a little strange (by way of email), the first AV interview with the CFO was quite pleasant. The process took about 20 minutes, during which I was asked about my past work history, etc.
The second AV interview was with the CEO, and that is where things took a dive. The gentleman seemingly expected me to, as he put it, 'come prepared and do proper research', and essentially worship the company and his genius. I was somehow expected to know about industry trends, detailed bits about the history of the company, possibly even wield facts and figures. Laughably, he suggested I should have checked out the About us page of the website (which, in fairness, I had), as if reading a few paragraphs from a company website was going to make me an industry and entity insider. Also to note, the CEO did not seem himself prepared for me as he was obviously reading through my resume as I was talking.
During the interview, despite me giving very detailed and contextual answers to his questions, he didn't seem to grasp what I was trying to convey and explain, and made it sound as if I hadn't answered his - at times very vague - questions (although I had). A few times he was quite condescending. For instance, after I had provided a thorough answer, he let me finish without interrupting me, then said that at Kounta they move and work very efficiently and fast and that if he asked a question he expected the person to 'get there faster than that'.
I really don't know who he thinks he is, but this was a very unpleasant experience, and I withdrew my application promptly the following morning. Mate, you aren't as great as you might think. Such a shame!
