Interview
The process took about four weeks. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful, which made the experience really positive. It was my second time interviewing with the company, and both times I genuinely enjoyed the process.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Box (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2020
Interview
Standard recruiter screen then hour long tech screen.
After that i was moved onto a virtual onsite, which totaled about 6.5 hours. It was of course pretty grueling, but I gave it my all. A few days later, the recruiter called me to tell me I did well on the interview, and received positive feedback from all of my interviewers, but he had to see if there was an opening that matched my background.
Huh?
Why the HECK would they allow me to get this far in the interview process, over 8 cumulative hours, if they weren't even sure that there was a position that matched my background? This is something that is usually resolved during the recruiter screen, or before, not at the end!
Anyways, I guess they didn't find one, but i'll never know for certain because I was ghosted completely, despite several followup emails.
I got an email notification from Greenhouse asking me to rate my experience interviewing with Box, which I took to mean that I didn't get the job. Goes without saying that, after all that time, pretty crappy for no one from the company to reach out and tell me they were passing.
If you are interviewing with Box, beware, they might not value your time at all.
