      Implementation Manager Interview

      Sep 17, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Columbia, SC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Aflac (Columbia, SC) in Nov 2023

      Interview

Rushed the first interview (meaning they wanted to schedule it for the following day after reaching out). I made this happen, but was then told only half of the managing team was able to be on that call, so they needed me to interview again with those who weren't able to attend. I had a "second interview" with questions completely unrelated to the role/skills required (i.e. "What would be your talent at a talent show"). The second interview felt much more like an interrogation than the first. After being told the first interview went so well, I was ghosted after this second interview, even after being told they needed the role filled immediately. I had to reach out to HR after a couple weeks for an update and was THEN told I didn't get the role. I rushed to get these interviews in and they didn't have the decency (or process) to reject me in a timely manner.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Aflac

      Interview

Interesting process. I applied and was rejected for the role, then received a call a month or so later asking to schedule a first interview within the next day or two. I was told I would interview with four individuals, only two were on the call. The next day I received a call from HR to interview with the folks who were not on that first call. It served as a second interview, thankfully less redundant than I anticipated considering the circumstances. However, after rushing to get these two interviews in on their quite small timeline -- it's been over three weeks and I have not heard back from any party within the company. Emailed HR to follow-up last week and still have no heard back. On the whole, I interpret this as a bit of a red flag -- urgency re: timing on their end (that I've accommodated) without follow-up on their end. Of course I do not expect prompt follow-up during the beginning stages or after an initial application from any employer, but once you've completed the final round of interviews I feel there should be some sort of contact from the company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you manage competing priorities? What percentage of your previous co-workers are not a fan of you? What do we do here? In your opinion, what is the most important skill an implementation manager should have? What is more important... perfect and late OR on time and good?
