In the current environment, there are much better opportunities out there.

      Pros

Hands down they have the best products in the niche in which they operate, which is workplace voluntary cash benefits. If you have the opportunity, the products sell themselves.

      Cons

-The commission level falls in the middle somewhere amongst insurance opportunities -The company is allowing brokers that are also contracted with Aflac to come in behind their field force associates and kick that associate who originally opened up the account out of the account….the broker then gets the benefits of all the associate’s previous hard work. Basically, work hard for a chance to get the short end of the stick in the end. There are many reasons Aflac is hemorrhaging veteran associates but this is the biggest reason. They forgot who got them where they are today. -Enrollment platform, while improved, keeps having issues. Seems like the name of the game here is “fix 1 thing, break 2 others”. Makes it hard to get the job done in a timely manner. -Helping policyholders to make corrections or updates on new or existing policies is a nightmare. It is routine to need to make 2 or 3+ calls to HQ to get something fixed in the correct manner.

      Pros

Overall good company to work for. Treated their employees well.

      Cons

The mandatory overtime was horrible especially during the holidays. The call center is the worst department.

Very political, long hours, unrealistic expectations

      Pros

Flexible Hours (You are a contract employee so you can come and go as you please, however, you are 100% commission so if you don't work, you won't make any money).

      Cons

There is little to no training what so ever. There are a lot of pointless meetings where you are expected to show up even though you don't get paid to be in any of those meetings. It could feel as if you are playing office and not actually working a real job.

      Pros

Okay pay for the area compared to other call centers. Good benefits, and some of the people you work with are friendly

      Cons

Work to Life balance is horrible. If you have a family expect not to see them as much as you'd like.

Family focused company which rewards hard work and integrity

      Pros

Aflac is transforming itself into an ancillary insurance carrier. It started out as a voluntary benefits or worksite carrier in the 1950's and it the past 6 years, it has expanded to work in the insurance broker community, bought Zurich's group life, disability and absence management company. Aflac also purchased Argus' dental and vision business. Aflac has listened to it's brokers and customers and is consistently improving its everyday Customer Service and billing. Aflac hasn't forgotten where it came from which is a company that perfected the enrollment process. Insurance is not easy for the lay person to understand and one on one enrollment a huge asset for covered individual and group policyholders. Aflac will enroll other carrier's products if needed including medical and all other benefit offerings. Aflac treats its employees like family. Lastly, Aflac will always side of behalf of its participants when it comes to processing claims. If there is way to pay benefits to our customers, we do and are committed to putting the customer first.

      Cons

Aflac is not different from other companies which were established many decades ago. It is conservative and does not make systematic changes quickly. However, this is the way that Aflac has remained financially sound during this pandemic. It watches the bottom line very carefully so it can always meet it financial commitment to policyholders and investors.

      Pros

While this company has grown significantly over the last 20 years, they have maintained their core values and integrity. Aflac is an amazing company to work for. Great, fair compensation and lots of opportunities for people who apply themselves.

      Cons

Location may not be ideal for those that want to live in a larger city. Other than that, absolutely, no cons!
