Why do Starbucks employees quit?

The customers especially the regulars were amazing

No tips at the 2550 Grant Ave Starbucks located inside the Giant store. They didn’t want cashiers at the Giant to feel left out 😒 Literally was the stupidest reason ever. Customers were insistent on paying but we had to decline or we would risk getting fired.

Coffee is fun! Customers are fun sometimes too. Sense of community if your store is cool.

Overworked. We never earn enough labor, always announcing bogo days without enough prior notice, do anything the customer wants.

- You can be overworked due to constant call-outs -Customers would constantly harass employees - The stores highly regarded and respected manager was terminated without substantial justification -The workload did not justify the pay, as I was barely earning $900 bi-weekly despite working full-time with overtime hours

I really really wish I had something to say here

I was an 18 y/o girl then, barely 18 at that, and an old man, who had called me "babygirl" at the register, followed me to the bathroom, listened through the door, opened the door as soon as he heard the lock click, and try to block me in there. I was barely able to duck past him, but managed to get the courage to check if our other bathroom was open (onc I heard him close his door) and it was... I ran to my manager terrified, I had to stay and he was allowed to stay, he watched me the whole shift, staying outside as we closed up. MY DAD had to show up with non emergency police, my manager simply was glad I didn't push him put of the way, or I could have been fired.

- management is known for doing personality hires over seniority. You will not be getting a promotion even if your resume and interviews go perfectly if they don't think your personality matches the store's motto - seniority pretty much doesn't matter at all - you will be stressed 24/7 and will work like crazy for barely $16 an hour - the workload is stressful and overwhelming. Most trainees either quit after two weeks or last roughly six months
