      Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

      Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds

        Pros

State Farm has good benefits and good people. There is an extensive training program.

        Cons

The metrics are unbearable. State Farm is losing customers and great employees because of the micromanagement of each call. Average handle time is recorded daily and "coached" in front of the team on a daily basis if not met. It's nearly impossible to give the quality of customer service that State Farm customers need and deserve during a claim call during the time allotted to do so. The stress and the constant "coaching" is driving good employees away.

I would say they have a decent culture. Overall people are nice and generally supportive or willing to help.

      4. 8 years experience as an account manager with State Farm and recently had salary increased to $40K + commission. I still feel I am being way under paid on my salary for everything I do. Thoughts?

If this is Commerical that's very low unless the commission is huge.

      5. Has anyone heard the news that State Farm is ending homeowner policies in California? How will this affect Residential Property Field Adjusters? I am concerned about job security since auto and commercial jobs with State Farm in California are majority already filled.

Is this 100% for sure?? Seems awfully radical but of course hearing it from California isn't necessarily surprising...

I just got an email from Norton that someone ran a reputation report on me. I didn’t run it. I just finished a second round interview yesterday. Do you think it’s HR doing due diligence or a scammer? Is running reputation reports common practice?

      Empower Retirement

Interviewed with a company last week and it seemed to be really be going well. Followed up today since it's been a week and the recruiter said she received really positive feedback about me from the hiring managers. She said she should have more info for me in the next few days and then asked me to formally apply (the recruiter found me on LinkedIn so I hadn't actually applied). Is it safe to assume I'll likely be getting an offer soon?
