Cons
For a company whose purpose is to help clients support their employees, Relocity doesn't walk the talk internally. - No carrot. The company just laid off about 15% of its corporate employees and yesterday announced that there won't be any merit increases or bonuses paid out in 2023 - Laughable workload resulting from the layoffs. Even before the layoffs, employee churn was extremely high, so it's been routine for my manager to ask me to take on more and more. Management's expectations have never been higher - Lack of resources. I don't have the tools I need to do my job effectively - Abysmal onboarding process. Absolutely no training, made it extremely difficult to ramp up - I feel that my manager (a senior leader) doesn't care about me. Doesn't ask for my input in my own performance reviews (talks the whole time), hijacks meetings, invests 0 time getting to know the team on a personal level, initiates no team-building - Leadership is anything but aligned, so departments aren't rowing the same direction. It's like crewing a ship that's constantly changing course. Numerous times, emphasizing NUMEROUS, I've worked extremely hard on projects that never came to fruition because leadership wasn't aligned on the purpose from the beginning. Frustrated is an understatement; this morning I just started to laugh when it happened again

Pros
teammates for the most part are amazing, skilled engineers and easy to work with. Cash compensation is in line with market rates. Pros stop here.
Cons
Micromanaged and overall poorly managed. Product direction is all over the place and nothing feels cohesive. Requirements will change on a whim at the behest of executive management, causing scopes to explode and work to frequently be delayed, or rushed and poorly constructed. Benefits are mediocre, but they do exist, and it is certainly better than nothing.

Pros
My region was really lucky and blessed with a wonderful supervisor. The schedule is make your own (for the most part - within their constraints) and flexible, which is nice. Co-workers are great, pay is decent.
Cons
They promote the job as "remote" but if you are a relocation consultant, it is NOT. It is specifically work from home. They are not familiar with all areas they offer services (at least in my region) and they have unreasonable expectations for employees. Upper management does not care about camaraderie. CEO is disconnected from reality. They give "promotions" with no increase in pay. When hours drop, they hold onto part-time employees just waiting for you to quit. It's a stereotypical corporate job with upper management not caring about what happens below them. They do not invest in employees. Everything is about the bottom line for them.

Exploitive, Unethical
Jun 2, 2023 - Consultant in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Flexible, okay hourly rate. "Remote"
Cons
Tries to get you to do above and beyond work for clients, while clocking out early so the company doesn't have top pay you.

Honest thoughts from my experience at Relocity
May 9, 2023 - Non-Management in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have been here for almost 2 years, and though I cannot speak for others, my experience at Relocity has been Good to Excellent. There have been no scenarios where my interactions with anyone in or out of my department have been truly negative. Even when we don't agree, it's always been an intelligent discussion with the reasons for the final decision validated. Executive management is comprised of very intelligent, opinionated individuals who come from unique professional and personal backgrounds. But when brought together, they put forward some unique ideas. They are not afraid to pivot and make changes, which not all employees are comfortable with. This is the nature of a high-growth company that only left the start-up phase less than two years ago. I think sometimes people forget that management's Top responsibilities are for the company's continued success and the overwhelming satisfaction of our clients. Of course, some employees are frustrated, but I know of no company as of late (except maybe Big Oil), that hasn't had to make adjustments based on current economic conditions. This doesn't just affect us; it affects every single one of our clients too. The company does not have any control over these conditions and can only look back at economic/corporate history to make informed decisions when navigating forward. I know from discussions I've been privy to that no decision is made lightly or easily. I always look forward to seeing the reviews that our personal hosts receive from our clients: real individuals and real families. Some or most of them may be experiencing one of the most stressful periods in their lives (i.e., relocating across the country or globally, placing their children in unknown school systems, starting a new position, etc.). Nothing better validates for me why I work here or why our company exists than their honest feedback. It's obvious from the feedback that Relocity's personal hosts ease the sometimes immense stress of these people. I've been at a few companies in my career, and by far, this company is the best at acknowledging performers. I am always told that my contributions are sincerely appreciated. There are also unlimited opportunities for everyone to make it known to anyone in the entire company that you appreciated someone else's efforts on a project too. That said, even after almost 2 years here, I'm still pleasantly surprised at the high-quality of everyone I meet here, especially when working cross-functionally.
Cons
I wouldn't mind having a chance to meet coworkers once or twice a year in-person, but by no means is that a make-or-break for me. If, on the other hand, you need that, it's probably not the place for you.

"Rocket Ship" is the best review title management can fake?
May 17, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The purpose of the company is great, I enjoyed helping people during a busy/hard part of their life.
Cons
Any recent reviews calling this company a "rocket ship" or equivalent are just straight up lies. If you value job stability, don't touch this place with a ten foot pole. Anyone who works here knows that.

Great Remote Work / Flex Schedule / Be Prepared
Feb 16, 2023 - Personal Host/Relocation Consultant in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Somewhat flexible schedule- you have to be online for company meetings and meetings with clients- but you get to set your availability for meetings with clients Great if you are a stay-at-home parent or looking to grow your customer service skills and tech/research skills
Cons
Be prepared to log all of your hours. If not, you won't get paid. Also, there are some restrictions around pay such as mileage, times you can work, etc, so it will be that you are working for free if you do not clock yourself in and out every second of the day. It may drive you crazy if you are not accustomed to this in the beginning. Very nice people (clients and 1 of my managers) to work with.
