Pay: -Pay is not clearly broken down. It changes without notice, communication, or explanation. -There is a clear gender pay gap. Toxic work environment: -Communication towards workers is antagonizing and abusive during team meetings and in private. -Workers are not to engage in “back channel communication” with ANYONE, including individuals outside the company. This includes not telling ANY individual about pay, or risk being terminated. So no applying for loans, since applications ask about pay? No applying to rent a house, since requirements are to prove income? Doesn't make sense. -Company tries to forbid online reviews of the company; former workers are harassed when there are reviews. -No open channels for feedback -Workers dissatisfaction is often blamed on external and nonexistent factors instead of doing a real introspection of company policies. -Clear favoritism for one team over another; different treatment and expectations are also quite different for member of the opposite sex. -Communication among workers is highly discouraged. -No breaks or lunch hour. Company policies: -Neither Mexican nor American holidays are observed or compensated. -Company does not have reasonable basis for treating workers as independent contractors (workers are misclassified), thus not withholding income taxes, nor withholding and paying Social Security and Medicare taxes, and nor paying unemployment tax on wages paid to an employee. Job security and Development: -Training and expectations are not clear or effective, leading to tension and high worker turnover. -No job security. Upon starting, a three month contract is signed, and not renewed thereafter. -Staffing decisions are made the last day of every month, workers are let go at this time of the month without more than 3 hours notice. -There is no opportunity for growth, though false expectations are set and never seen through. -Lack of reward and recognition for achieved goals and hard work. Location: -There is not an office space; all are unofficially required to work inside a personal residence in a residential community with inconvenient and exaggerated security measures. -Workers have to lie to security in said residential community, as it is not allowed to run businesses in this location, per HOA rules. -Said location does not have easy access to means of transportation (either public or private). -Location is also not near restaurants or anywhere to buy food, nor are there breaks or a lunch hour that would allow for this during work hours.
