Pros

Truthfully the culture here at Ubisoft is unmatched. People are extremely friendly, helpful and resourceful. Where other companies you have departments that try to remain within their own teams, here at Ubisoft Toronto, it doesn't matter what department or team you work for, everyone is happy to help or answer any questions you have. There are a lot of initiatives that are employee-focused and employee-driven that foster a sense of belonging in their studio/company. They have company-wide events, team-wide events, community groups and clubs you can participate in. There's also a complimentary snack, breakfast bar, and gym onsite as a perk. The work is interesting depending on which team you work with or project that you're on. The great thing about Ubisoft is that there are a lot of people here who have been with the company for years, which not only speaks to its culture but also upward and horizontal mobility. I've met several people who used to be in one role when they were hired and have since transitioned to another. It is important however to make that clear with your manager. (Contract employee so I can speak to the full-time benefits).

Cons

You have to get up to speed rather quickly. The onboarding process and time are very minimal, so you have to learn to be resourceful or learn quickly on your feet. They utilize a lot of in-house software and programs, which is another learning curve. They are a hybrid work environment so you're expected to be onsite 3 days a week and they are pretty strict about that. The location isn't the greatest location to get to since it's quite west and there isn't much in the surrounding area. The pay is either at market or lower.

Pros

Remote work, free games. Good co-workers.

Cons

Horrendous pay, expectations of work absolutely unreasonable. Turnover rate pretty high, and instead of hiring new employees, just had the remaining team take over the work that required like 10+ employees. Then after requiring 200% productivity to make up for the lack of a team, complained about teams.
