If you’re considering a role at Tucows, be aware of the reality behind the job description.
There's no training or support. You’ll be thrown into the deep end with VERY minimal onboarding. There’s no structured learning program, and you’re expected to have all the answers from day one. If you don’t meet performance expectations within weeks, they won’t hesitate to terminate you.
They also offer below-market pay. My salary offer was at least $5K under the Toronto average for similar roles (based on Indeed and Glassdoor data).
There's also poor company performance; take a look at their stock performance over the past five years before applying. It’s a red flag and if you don't believe me - the data speaks for itself...
From the time I've been here I also realize there's extremely limited career growth in this large of a company. There’s little opportunity to advance or develop new skills internally.
The benefits are also extremely underwhelming. Only 3 weeks’ vacation, while most competitive companies offer 4 weeks or unlimited PTO.
Overall, the advertised role did not match the reality. There’s poor support, uncompetitive pay, and limited prospects. If you value growth, stability, and fair compensation, look elsewhere and RUN.
