Tucows – Why Work With Us?

Tucows started in 1993 by changing not just how people connected to the Internet but also who could get online.

We have offices across the globe in the US, Canada, Europe and Southeast Asia. Our team members work one or several of our brands which span domains names, fiber Internet and mobile phone service.

We bring the principles of net neutrality to everything we do and do more every day with who we are. We are the sum total of our efforts. Everything we build, make and do is on the Internet but that’s not the only reason we think the Internet is important.

workplace culture

At Tucows, you’ll work in a relaxed, laid back environment packed with people who are passionate about being part of unlocking the power of the Internet. We know you'll love coming into work but we empower our employees to make their own decisions and manage their time accordingly. Enjoy a true work-life balance with a flexible schedule and the option to work from home. Employees without a defined weekly schedule can find the time that works for them to begin and end their workday. Need to drop the kids off at daycare early? Cool. Want to stay late to accommodate dinner plans? No problem.

At all our locations - and we have many spread across the globe from Canada to the US, to Europe - there is no dress code in effect. You’re free to come to work in as you feel comfortable. We know your outfit doesn't impact your quality of work, so please be comfortably yourself here.

We are looking for people who believe in the endless possibilities of the Internet. We are involved in many exciting verticals that are key to the infrastructure of the Internet we all know and love: domains, fiber, and mobile. We want people who are looking to grow their careers and, in turn, we invest in your personal growth. We have grown to well over 600 employees and over 130 of them have been with us for over 5 years.

Feel like joining the herd is for you? Submit an application to any of our available positions. We can't wait to hear from you!

We know people work best when they’re healthy, happy and motivated.

That’s why we prioritize real work/life balance at Tucows and put wellness first. Make your own schedule with flexible hours and work from home days. Enjoy monthly catered lunches in-office as well as healthy snacks every afternoon.

We have leading benefits packages, educational opportunities, parental leave top-up, work perks and more. We want to see our people thrive in their roles so we host massage days, mental health workshops as well as women’s leadership and diversity speakers in office. Our benefits package includes flexible Lifestyle Spending dollars to go towards wellness purchases our employees choose. This can cover anything from bike repairs to a new mattress to sneakers and vitamins.

People make the place, so we make sure to invest in our people. We’re different from other tech companies. We believe in individuality. We’re a diverse team where people from all generations work together under one roof. We celebrate our differences as well as what we have in common.

Here at Tucows, we offer a lot of perks. Each office has many of its own unique extras but you can pretty much count on the following:

Be your best you at work and aside from that, you don’t have to be anything at all. Tucows is an equal opportunity employer.

We share the wealth with options on our ever-improving stock position and other opportunities to invest in your work.

Family first

Maternity, paternity, and adoption leave for new parents and the opportunity to work from home when it makes sense.

Future planning

RRSP and 401(k) matching so you can think about other things today while still saving for tomorrow.

Coffee, tea and snacks

You’ll find no shortage of stuff to keep you going at work. Coffee, tea, fresh fruit, snacks, and other treats.

    PR and Communications Head Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    No Offer
    Negative Experience

I was Ghosted after two interviews. I am a senior Communications professional and applied for what I thought was a senior role through LinkedIn. I heard from an HR rep after about three weeks to express their interest in my application. I had two interviews, one was a phone screening interview with HR that was about one hour, and then I had one video interview with a Director.. It was scheduled one week after the HR interview and then rescheduled to the following week. I was offered several dates and times for that meeting.

Once we did speak, the Director seemed distracted and was interrupted several times by his child while working and interviewing from home - which is understandable right now. Despite that, we had a good one-hour conversation. I was definitely (more than) qualified and was promised follow-up shortly. I didn’t hear back so I emailed HR a few times to follow up and was told they were still interviewing and would get back to me by that Friday. And then I was ghosted, never to hear from them again. I have no idea if they ever hired anyone.

Ghosting is unprofessional. I invested hours of my time to apply, research and interview for this company. I deserve and expect to be told my status in the process in a professional manner. This was so disrespectful, especially right now when so many strong, experienced candidates have been negatively impacted by the pandemic and find themselves back in the job market. Let’s leave the ghosts to Halloween please.
