Pros

Good place to start your banking career as you handle all products ranging from bank accounts to mortgages and even insurance. The systems are decent once you gain some experience working on it. The coaches and operational departments are only a call or email away so you can easily learn things on the job. Good work life balance and great leave policy with the option to buy additional personal time.

Cons

Scorecard has been tightened in 2024 and therefore meeting the weekly goals has become a stretch. The leads are mostly junk and there is no strong framework for generating branch referrals. This pretty much leaves you on your own for sourcing business. You will have a tough time meeting goals if placed in any of the smaller branches, especially in the leaner business periods with less walk-ins. You will need to get into a big level branch if seeking to grow in your career as it is difficult to become a top performer otherwise, and hiring is solely done basis data and numbers, regardless of your small branch challenges. After a while, SFA role feels like a dead end as the organization does not provide support to pursue CFP / PFP. Having to do bank accounts, credit cards and routine maintenance may make you feel like you are overqualified basis the job title and career aspirations.
