Pros

If you happen to get a good boss, you will have a decent work life balance. Lots of opportunities to move around. However, your previous experience matters. Benefits are similar to what the other banks offer. Good place to start your career as a new grad or new immigrant.

Cons

Scotiabank employees get paid the lowest when compared to the pay in other 4 big banks Employees are severely underpaid and overly worked Management is made of people who have risen up the ranks based on experience Systems are outdated No training is offered New hires from other organizations get paid more than the existing employees No one is ready to take responsibility of issues. It is always the case of passing the buck.

Pros

A couple of smart people who are kind and open to mentoring. Hours not bad given no deal flow in US.

Cons

Top heavy management. Culture values heavy politicking. Low bonuses.
