The current CEO once said, "those that have left the company don't get it!" Perhaps he doesn't get it. - R&D OpenText Employee Review

Pros

Great company to work for prior to the OpenText acquisition, intelligent, highly skilled and determined team to bring success.

Cons

The exec team have no clue on their vision and this has transferred to managers, leads and staff further down the chain who are slowly departing to much better employment opportunities. It's a highly demotivating company to work for where remuneration and rewards are scarcely offered if at all. Many people with a wealth of knowledge have departed, either by redundancy or had enough and OT were happy to let them go. No opportunities are presented to those who wish to progress their careers. The local HR teams are inept at their jobs and aren't their to assist staff. Be careful if you're a part of an acquisition, as the transfer to OT is deficient and they will use tactics to force you onto their terms. A recent online report by Gartner has even recommended that OT customers search for an alternative product provider due to the lack of innovation and weaknesses.

Pros

Pros was that you had a job (and not for long if they find a way to outsource your position in the company).

Cons

Cons are so many to list, but from the leadership in this company being so out of touch with his/her employees, the restructuring done in their company to save some bucks on their end was crazy brutal, firing all of their talented workers to implement automated programs that did not function properly. Overall, horrible experience with OpenText, lies upon lies when it came to growth opportunities and keeping teams in the dark, no communication what so ever. Their business practices were just plain terrible.
