Pros

While OpenText continues to offer excellent day-to-day benefits like cab facilities and free food, there has been a noticeable shift in the corporate culture over the last two years. Historically, under Mark and Muhi's leadership, OpenText was recognized as a stable, consistent, and highly strategic acquisition-oriented company. However, recent policy changes have introduced significant operational friction. Business Unit leaders appear to be making short-sighted, misaligned decisions without thorough evaluation. Decision-making feels biased, and across the workforce, there is a clear sentiment that the company currently lacks strong strategic direction and leadership.

Cons

The organization is currently experiencing a severe gap in centralized governance and strategic direction. There is a noticeable pattern of complacency among long-tenured middle management and directors (15+ years), who have transitioned into transactional 'bosses' rather than active leaders. Instead of driving performance through data, dashboards, or clear statistics, these layers are entirely disengaged from operational outputs—delegating even minor, routine tasks downward while awaiting retirement. This environment has fostered heavy internal politics and highly biased leadership, resulting in compensation without accountability or active contribution

Pros

You get a paycheck. Some of the people are nice but don’t trust anyone.

Cons

Exec leadership is awful. Always putting out the positive party line but it is all lies. Products are so far behind competitors. No investment in product or marketing. Senior executive leadership team shuffles around their “good old boy” comrades to new roles instead of retiring them or holding them accountable. The internal politics with everyone back stabbing each other to manage up and keep their jobs. Leadership is just doing what the board chair tells them to do. It is all about self promotion vs doing the job. They like to blame the previous CEO but he has been gone a year and it has only gotten worse. OpenText likes to brand itself as top company to work for , I say STAY AWAY!
