Pros

Competitve Compensation and Benefits People with whom you work are genuinely good natured and focused on the best outcome Good Work Life balance

Cons

Career Advancement - there are no opportuntiies for career advancement at Intuit. Directors have no upward mobility therefore mid- level mangement has no options... the effect of lack of mobility trickles down through the organization. There are numerous examples across the company where jobs are filled from the outside rather than from internal candidates...I guess managment thinks so little about the current employees capabilities that they wont hire from within! "Own your career" is the rallying cry of management , but the reality is you don't/ can't . Criteria for advancement has been established but the exceptions to the the stated criteria are sufficent enough as to render them useless. If you like endless lateral movement which allows you to "learn" as well as participating in trainings which result in nothing than Intuit is the place for you. Senior Management - is insulare and focused on self preservation. They avoid tough discussions with each other in favor of developing a congenial atmosphere. The goal is to create the atmospere that everyone in agreement with each decison. Managers regularly protect (and often promote) individuals that display behavior which runs counter to company norms. Decisons within organizations and about individuals are made behind closed doors and often seem focused exclusively on making sure that they have the right "butts in seats" with little consideration to what career aspirations individuals may have. Senior managers who fail in roles are regulary re-assigned to different divisions. I think we all thought that Brad would bring a breath of fresh air to the company, but so far little has changed. We still have the annual reorgs, that seem to have zero impact on decison making or business performance. Strategy - It changes each year... need I say more.

Pros

Benefits are amazing, medical insurance, vision and dental. Company match on 401K and volunteer time off.

Cons

They keep making decisions to outsource jobs to contract workers who don't share the same value in training or customer care. Oh they say they do but when you catch the listening to music so loud you can't hear the customer, or literally snoring on the line they can't do anything because of the way the contracts are set up. It is up to the contract company and the contract company just needs warm bodies. They did not even supply enough people doing our busiest season this year to co or the shifts that were required in the contract. So good luck with that. They will always eventually lay you off.
