Pros
1. Opportunities to work on strategic projects. 2. There are nice people and mentors in the organisation . 3. Office is in a good location.
Cons
1. EY Consulting is a glorified staffing agency, therefore they don’t care about your career aspirations. Leadership’s sole priority is that you’re charged to a client project, which will result in a high margin. 2. Burn out - you will be asked to carry out a lot work (i.e tender responses) in addition to your client work. Leadership are content in harming staff’s mental health, so that they can maximize their equity pay outs. Despite all the extra effort, late nights and weekend work, you don’t receive any meaningful financial appreciation for this. “Exposure” and emails saying “thank you” do not pay the bills! 3. High turnover rate - every month people are made aware of some the smartest people in the organisation moving onto different jobs. 4. Pay - Compensation is sub par compared to the market rate, which is evidenced by the fact quality people are leaving for roles paying considerably more money. 5. Toxic culture - you’ll come across colleagues who will try to “one up” you. This environment is toxic.
