Pros

Great benefits and sometimes great people. PTO is not bad either. Pay was ok it starts off at fifteen thirty five per hour, I believe.

Cons

They always roll out new products that are incomplete causing tons of issues with customers. They take away products without proper replacements. Multiple managers have been fired for very bad things from Sexual Harassment to fraud and money laundering. Company expects perfection from employees but employees aren't given the right tools. The HR department is a confused mess. It may take them multiple years to fully train you but they will still hold you accountable or they will put very little effort into training you but will expect perfection. Higher ups constantly changing rules without worrying about the impact on employees. They will hold you to accomplish ridiculous goals without incentives. Very little opportunity to move up. You either have to stay on at the same position for years and hope a position opens up or move to another department. Work environment is very much about who you know, so get ready to kiss some A for a promotion.

Pros

Some of the smartest individuals in their fields. The focus is always “forward” and the company is willing to adopt new tech to stay ahead for the purposes of the company’s (key word there) benefit. Great PTO and benefits.

Cons

The company’s drive to keep itself moving forward has caused it to regress in other aspects. As a leading tech company first, and leading bank second, it’s embarrassing what their stance is on hybrid and remote work. The company can easily accommodate remote options for their employees not near main offices, but chooses not to. I am relocating to a major city with no major CapOne presence and their response was “too bad, either fly up weekly or you’ll be terminated for not meeting the hybrid requirements”. It’s embarrassing because most of my week is remote anyways. I wonder how many current and past employees have been impacted, and I’m worried about how much talent they’ll be pushing away in the coming years.
