Thank you to Jasen for sharing why our culture makes Capital One a great place to work. It’s an important part of #LifeAtCapitalOneCA “I've been surprised by how differently Capital One operates compared to other employers. I've found Capital One has always been on the forefront of leveraging technology, and is more data-driven than I could've imagined. The culture instills a collaborative and innovative workspace, where I can interact with so many intelligent co-workers from across teams, departments, even countries! Capital One is invested in growing their employees – they actively involve and give employees courses, training and certificates to further their career and knowledge. The culture is truly a ‘come as you are' environment, with great work-life balance and time to both disconnect and connect with your team. It makes for a sustainable and fun way of work."

There’s nothing we like to see more than our associates growing in their chosen field. See what Cynthia had to say about her co-op experience at Capital One. “I’ve had a very positive experience working at Capital One, both in my previous role and current co-op term. In my previous term as a co-op, I had the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the Canadian finance team. What surprised me most as a co-op student was how open and transparent Capital One associates are. I’ve been able to connect with the entire finance team and have meaningful conversations with individuals at all levels. I’ve gained insights into each of the individual teams and have built a network of mentors who have given me valuable insights into career development and growth. Capital One is made up of intelligent, innovative and inspiring individuals who actively work to embody our vision of changing banking for good. I’ve been inspired by the associates I’ve worked with and continue to learn so much from their diverse professional experiences and expertise.” #LifeAtCapitalOneCA

Product Manager Interview
Anonymous Employee in New York, NYNo OfferNeutral ExperienceAverage InterviewApplicationI applied online. I interviewed at Capital One (New York, NY) in Sept 2023
Interview
First round was with a recruiter. These were the questions I got. Tell me about yourself? Why are you interested in this role? What is your process in designing a product? Tell me about a time when you worked with others on a team. 2nd round was a mini case, no behavioral questions. It will be on either the Capital One Shopping browser extension, the Capital One Virtual Card Numbers widget or the Capital One Mobile App. If you pass this round then the next round is a super day (4 hours of interviews in one day with breaks in-between). After that is a behavioral interview with a senior person where they deep dive on your experiences.InterviewI got the Cap One Shopping Browser Exten Case. It's not like the traditional produce sense cases where you are improving a feature or product, they just go straight into questions. First question I was asked was, beyond the revenue stream what value does this product bring to Capital One? (Why would capital one build this product) As a PM for Capital One, you want to personalize offers via Capital One Shopping through targeted email offers. Identify which products you would send to customers to increase the number of purchases with a referral link. Then I was shown a draft email and asked how I would improve it. Then I was shown some metrics for before and after changing the personalized marketing emails and asked what my observations were. Those were all the questions. I didn't pass this round.
