Pros

Great marketing. Customer come and walk in traffic is great. I love the mission and culture. A lot of focus on customer service. 30 min lunch is amazing and the continuous decrease in staffing is so wonderful.

Cons

Work life balance is horrible for retail. If you work in Mclean on your laptop it’s great, but when you are in the branch you have no idea. System outages like crazy. No career path for promotion. Teller can get promoted to uba. Uba to Bankers. And bankers will be bankers for life. You go to a build your brand class and they say you are the cream of the crop. You apply for the next role and they say you don’t have enough experience. I am a banker for 5 years. I did mortgages until you took them away. I was successful in loans but now I have to call a 1800 for them to do my job. I am an expert in checking, Savings, and credit card....so is the capital one 360 website. Managers are all about coaching but cannot sell for the life of them. How can you coach me when you don’t do anything? Get managers who don’t sit in their office. Get a manager who is the best at selling and I will learn from them. I hate it when they just don’t tell me what to do like they know everything and don’t have any sales experience themselves. Pull a teller drawer once and a while. Digital solutions are so far behind but they claim to be Apple of Banking. Back office support needs to approve everything. We are not bankers...our role is to handoff our customer to another partner who drops the ball and the customer comes back to belittle us. Let bankers do Banker activities.

Pros

Environment was good, food was decent, free food at my location (dont know if it was allowed but it was good)

Cons

The rittenhouse location is managed by a tyrant, he is an incredibly toxic man and upper management make it the most unbearable place to work. Andy will ask you to come in on days you're not scheduled, and then hold it over your head if you don't. Talks about employees behind their backs constantly. No respect enforced employees talked about each other all the time and there was even name calling in meetings, management did nothing. Worst place I've ever worked in my life frankly and affected my mental health in the worst way. Glad to be out out of there. The place itself has potential but the management at the Rittenhouse branch and above them is absolutely terrible in every regard.
