Pros

Safe job since they do lots of work within Public Sector which their leading in. The people are nice but quite corporate. Offer grad/apprentice programme.

Cons

Career progression is not good for degree apprentices or grads because they will put you on one project sometimes doing roughly the same thing for 6 months plus. Their isn't enough investment into grads or apprentice technical training required for project work if your not a naturally techie before joining them. You can't expect a developer on a project to teach an apprentice or grad how to code in C# or JS. Loyalty is not rewarded financially with market rate salaries. Lots of penny pinching i.e no remote contracts offered and no complementary drinks/food in the offices for staff. No bonus structure for groups financial performance. Those with a end of year rating of 1 vs someone 3 have marginal difference in pay increase but the requirement to get a 1 is exponentially higher than a 3. If your out performing your peers at higher grades that's not reflected in pay and grade due to red tape around highieracy. You can be A6 who's been in the company since starting at A1 but if they recruit another A6 they will be earning significantly more than you at times even by 40% plus. Once you leave you realise a lot of people you worked with are not genuine as they end up ghosting you on LinkedIn compared to when you worked with them in the same company.
