Pros

- Inclusive: as a Muslim, I feel supported and representative - Flexible: I didn't want to work for a client that manufactured weapons and my hiring manager was understanding - Holiday: you can buy up to 10 days holiday on top of your standard 25 + public holidays. - WFH: even before lockdown, there was no necessity to work a Capgemini office, unless client asks of it's a secure account - Varied: the projects you can work on vary in industry and in skill set.

Cons

- Environment: some clients are among the biggest polluters in the world - War: clients that manufacture weapons used in conflicts right now that present flagrant human-rights abuses

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, and it’s great to hear that you feel so well supported in our inclusive work environment. I’m sorry that you feel that we are not doing enough to support the environment though. Environmental sustainability is something we take really seriously as a company. We achieved our previous 2030 science-based target to reduce carbon emissions by 30% per employee in January this year, a decade ahead of schedule, and before the COVID-19 related lockdowns. Not wanting to rest on our laurels, in July we announced a new commitment to achieve carbon neutrality for our operations no later than 2025, and set out our ambition to be net zero by 2030. You can read more about it here https://www.capgemini.com/gb-en/news/capgemini-announces-ambition-to-become-net-zero-business-by-2030/. If you have any suggestions about what else we could do to improve our environmental credentials please contact our sustainability team – you’ll be able to find all their details on our intranet pages and they will be pleased to hear from you. It’s great to hear that you were able to speak openly with your manager about your beliefs prior to joining, and that you’ve been so well supported in your wish to not work for a weapons manufacturer. We pride ourselves on being an ethical organisation, and we were delighted to be recognised by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the worlds most ethical companies in 2020 – the 8th consecutive year that we have featured on this list. You can read all about it here https://www.capgemini.com/gb-en/news/capgemini-the-ethisphere-institute/ It sounds like you are building a successful career with Capgemini and we hope you remain with us for many years to come.

Cons

I was laid off after spending several months on the bench, with "lack of available projects" cited as the reason. However, another consultant in the same role who was also without an active client engagement was retained. As a woman and racial minority, I could not ignore the disparity in how these decisions appeared to be made. Before my termination, I reported being recorded without my consent and raised concerns about conduct that I believed reflected implicit bias. I was referred to as "URM" instead of by my name or role, encouraged toward race based employee resource groups rather than meaningful career opportunities, and repeatedly advocated for fair project placement while on the bench. My employment ended shortly after I raised these concerns. Following my termination, I pursued the matter through the appropriate internal and legal channels. I provided documentation supporting my concerns and gave the company multiple opportunities to investigate and resolve the issues. Rather than meaningfully addressing the evidence or acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations, the company denied wrongdoing, offered what I viewed as a nominal severance, and declined to accept accountability. Employees deserve confidence that concerns about discrimination and retaliation will be investigated objectively and fairly. My experience left me with the opposite impression.
