Pros

High quality people - recruited from top schools, top organizations Company culture encourages internal mobility - you're able to pick up new skills every 2 yrs as you rotate jobs World/life balance like no other - mandated work from home 2 days a week in most depts., flexible work from home as needed for dr. appts, due to bad weather, etc.

Cons

Company culture has gone down over the years; less focus on leadership development. Lack of meritocracy - top performers not rewarded with promotions or given career opportunities; you need to get backed by multiple senior people to get ahead. Slow decision-making and pace of innovation

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
