Pros
Benefits Long tenure - 20 + years - hard to walk away On a larger scale, Senior leaders I believe try to do what's right for the business and its people
Cons
Morale - In my location the VP has no "real" idea of what is going on in the service centers. Leaders (B30s) are slow to talk during skip levels, because of lack of trust and fear of consequences when the VP leaves. No protection. Everyone acts like everything is fine. But will talk among each other. Morale is very poor Trust - In my center, no trust in the Pulse survey. Leaders have openly advised employees if they do not rate high, the office won't receive any money for bonuses or office will be closed, etc. Leaders (TLs and above) have tried to figure out which employee wrote which comments. Therefore, some employees opt not to take it because of the lack of integrity of the leadership team...which is very sad. Career growth/Promotions - This is a joke. I have extremely high tenure. I have supported various departments/divisions. Consistently a high performer of G1/L2 (G2/L2). Several time pacesetter, trendsetter, etc). Stuck as a B30. I went back to school and achieved a Bachelors Degree and then a MBA., thinking this would help me leverage my knowledge and skills to secure a B35 leadership role to really push my career growth. NOT!!!! Each time my school follows up to see if I have received a promotion (it's been 3 years as a part of the schools post graduation process), I am embarrassed to say I am still in the same role prior to obtaining any formal education. But yet, I am the go to person for everything I have more education, skills and knowledge than my leader and most of my B30 peer group. I am only valued when theres a low performing team for me to turnaround or a problematic person that I am told " you are the right person to manage this person" or a issue that need to be fixed with the client or the department...then I am the best thing since slice bread. I am hoping a external company recognizes my value soon. I can't make a company love me back I've given all I know how.
