Pros

Insurance, benefits, 401k, $15.00 daily meal allotment when working in office, culture

Cons

The claims department is so small, they don't have a training protocol. There are no training materials. It is run by one person who has been at the company for more than 10 years, but if that person is out or not available, there are no back-ups. You mainly learn when you are on the floor and that is also when your metrics count to be able to keep your job. So you have to pay good attention in class. If you have questions regarding the phone system - good luck. They run metrics like a call center in terms of claims per hour, because you have to be in "ready" status. They have a terrible time reacting to the fire claims of Jan 2025. Everything is handled reactively and not proactively.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
