Pros

Aerotek as a company offers great training and they have an amazing ATS system.

Cons

This isn’t a review of Aerotek as a whole, this is a review for the Aerotek in the Fargo, ND office addressing their culture issues. I do believe that Aerotek is a pretty good company that offers great resources from the trainings that I’ve been too in other locations. However, I firmly believe that the Fargo office has issues that put a bad name on Aerotek. First, the Fargo office was started and is ran by a group of male best friends from their childhood/college days and any new comers are treated like outsiders who have no say. All the other employees are groups of guys who all live together. So, unless you’re a part of one of those circles, your time there is going to be miserable. With that being said, they can’t seem to keep a female recruiter for more than a year due to all the discrimination and harassment. The sexual harassment and discrimination women are subjected to daily is unimaginable, but women do not feel comfortable reporting it or standing up for themselves, because they are bullied, belittled and made to feel like it’s you not them. The harassment doesn’t stop at women though, I’ve witnessed male recruiters be harassed daily by their superior. The Fargo office has been around for 5+ years and have never promoted a female recruiter to an Account Manager role. They seem to think that women belong in the admin role as that’s where they seem to keep the females that work thee- as support and not competition. The men see themselves as the crucial players, and most of them are frat guys who never wanted to leave the fratty environment. It really doesn't matter how smart you are or how hard you work or how well you’re doing, the men here do not believe that contributes to your worth and value at the company. Every female recruiter that has ever worked there has quit for the reasons above because the environment is extremely hostile, fratty and lacks diversity and inclusion beyond belief. Female recruiters have gone to HR in the past regarding these issues but nothing ever changes because they continue to employ the people that are the root cause of the issues here. On top of all of that, the amount of drinking that goes on in this office is excessive, disgusting, and downright unprofessional. Your success is highly tied to how many happy hours and parties at the boss’s house you attend or how many Busch lights you can drink. I am writing this because I am truly concerned about that next female that walks into that office. The treatment people receive here should not be legal or condoned by anyone and until major changes happen at this office, I would avoid Fargo Aerotek at all cost. ESPECIALLY if you are female wanting to get into recruiting or sales. The money is not worth the trauma you will experience…

Pros

Great people, great training, great entry level opportunity to get into recruiting and sales. If you are successful you will make more here than about anywhere else. Performing Recruiters are making $55k-$75k. Great Recruiters are making $100k+. Every large office has salespeople making $200k-$400k. Culture is 100% committed and generally cool type-A's you would want to have a beer with. The skills, drive, and sense of urgency you learn at Aerotek serve you well anywhere you may go later.

Cons

If you are just looking for a low-commitment 8-5 job while posting on social media about where you are partying that night...you will not like Aerotek. Success requires an all in approach both in work ethic and active support of the culture. That is not for everyone. There are Political Science grads 3 years out of college making $200k+, but there is a price to be paid. All the tough work comes first. If you are not up for the level of work and commitment, Aerotek is not for you. If you are, none of this is really a "con" As far a real cons go, the benefits are only OK, and finding work/life balance is pretty difficult.
