Consulting Exit Opportunities
I’m interviewing for a Data Science Associate role at a mid size fin tech right now. Afraid to make the jump as I’m only a few months into first strategy job. Feel like I’ll be around more high achievers in consulting, but if in the end everyone (an exaggeration) is trying to funnel into product management, should I jump ahead of the curve?

Care about employees and practice what they preach Invested heavily in technology across the business Strong focus on customer with very customer sat numbers and member usage Good benefits and flexible work environment
Great office, but people only tend to come in a few days a week.Continue reading

There is an effort to make employees maintain work life balance Fun product that is mostly used Nice office
In order of importance Lack of diversity and experience in management. if you fall into the very cookie cutter stereotype of most of the upper leadership you will likely get promoted 5 times in a year without doing anything very impactful. Leadership is very out of touch with reality of what their employees are facing. Whenever someone is promoted into a people leader role there is no training, no follow up if they are doing well at their job so ultimately probably a nice place to land but not so great for people that report into them Lack of experience makes for confusing direction of where the product is going From the outside incentives are top down - lucrative roles for the abundance of managers and skimping promotions and salary increase for individual contributors employees that are putting in overtime and leg workContinue reading

It’s a nice place to work, nice people, it’s nice to be part of a product that is about making people feel better about their work.
Pretty old processes, felt like the job was just copy pasting between half a dozen spreadsheets and delivering the same power points over and over again. Really old and clunky backoffice tools Very unimaginative place to work.

Achievers really show how a GPTW (great place to work) company should be. The work is challenging but it won't go beyond work hours. The office and people are amazing and the product really changes the world. There is room for growth and some enjoyable events throughout the year.
Salary is a little below market and some teams don't allow full remote work.

Live, breathe, and experience the amazing culture the company has fostered and continues to work towards. The people are genuinely nice and happy to collaborate with.
The compensation may be lower than expectations.
